My approach
01.
Booking -

Get in touch to book your session — we’ll discuss your ideas, your dog’s personality, and the kind of setting you’d love. I’ll help you choose the perfect location and answer any questions you have.
02.
Meet & Greet -

Before we start shooting, I take a little time to get to know you and your dog. This helps your pet feel comfortable and ensures we capture their true personality.
03.
The Shoot -

We head out to our chosen location and let your dog take the lead. Whether they’re exploring, playing, or simply enjoying the moment, I capture natural, candid images that reflect who they are.

04.
Editing & Delivery

After the session, I carefully select and edit your photos to bring out the best in every shot. Your finished gallery is delivered within one to two weeks, ready to download, share, and treasure.
FAQ
What kinds of pets do you photograph?
Any pet that’s part of your family — dogs, cats, rabbits, or even more unusual companions. Every session is adapted to your pet’s personality, creating relaxed, natural photos that show who they really are.
Do I need my pet to know commands like “sit” or “stay”?
Not at all. Although these commands can help, many of the best photos come from pets just being themselves! I work with patience, play, and plenty of treats to capture genuine, expressive moments.
What if my pet is shy, nervous, or reactive?
That’s perfectly okay. I always prioritise your pet’s comfort and will go at their pace. We’ll choose a quiet location and take time to let them settle in so they feel relaxed and confident during the shoot.
Does my dog need to be off lead?
Nope! Safety always comes first. Your dog can stay on lead the whole time, and I can remove or disguise the lead during editing for a natural, clean finish.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
Living in Cumbria, we all know how unpredictable the weather can be! If it’s pouring or unsuitable for the session, we’ll reschedule to a better day at no extra cost. A bit of light drizzle or cloud can actually make for beautiful photos, so we’ll decide together what works best.
How do I book a session?
You can get in touch via my website, email, or social media to arrange a shoot. We’ll chat about your pet, preferred location, and the kind of images you love before setting a date. A small deposit may be required to secure your slot.
How long does a photo session last?
Most sessions last around 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your pet’s energy and the location. I keep things flexible and relaxed so your dog can take breaks and enjoy the experience.
How long until I receive the finished photos?
Your edited photos will be ready within one to two weeks after your session. You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints if you wish.
Can I be in the photos too?
Absolutely! I love capturing the bond between you and your pet. Whether it’s a walk, a cuddle, or a moment of laughter, we’ll include natural, heartfelt portraits that celebrate your connection.
What should I bring to the shoot?
Bring your pet’s favourite treats or toy, a lead, some water, and anything else that makes them happy. If there’s something sentimental you’d like included — like a special collar or blanket — I’ll make sure it fits beautifully into your session.
Where do you travel to?
I’m based in Barrow-in-Furness and cover the Lake District and surrounding areas as standard. Travel is included within a 40-mile radius of Barrow-in-Furness, which covers plenty of beautiful locations — from beaches and forests to lakes and fells. If you’re not sure whether your area is included, just drop me a message and I’ll happily check.
Do you charge extra for travel outside your area?
Yes, for locations beyond the 40-mile radius, I charge a small travel fee of £0.45 per mile (round trip) to cover fuel and time. This keeps things fair and transparent, and I’ll always confirm the exact cost before booking so there are no surprises.
